The Associated Veterinary Emergency Service has provided medical care to pets in San Joaquin County since 1989. The original location was in the Pavilion shopping center on Hammer Lane in Stockton. Recently the emergency service moved to the Veterinary Specialty Center near the Stockton Arena at 1661 W. Fremont St. The hospital is the most modern veterinary facility in San Joaquin County. It is equipped with highly sophisticated laboratory, x-ray, surgical and treatment equipment. Our goal is to provide the highest quality emergency medical and surgical care possible when your primary veterinarian is unavailable.

We specialize exclusively in the emergency treatment of sick and injured animals. Once your pet's condition has been stabilized or resolved, it will be sent home or to your primary veterinarian for continued care.

Please note routine healthcare must be accessed at your family veterinary hospital.

Stray animals needing emergency care are generally brought to us by animal control or the police. Please call (209) 937-7911 for assistance. We can also examine a stray animal presented by a Good Samaritan who is willing to assume financial responsibility for medical services provided.
